When and how do I apply for the National Pension refund lump-sum payment? Can I apply before I leave?

In principle, payment is made after departure is confirmed. However, if you submit documents (such as a flight ticket) proving you will leave within one month, your documents will be accepted even before departure. After departure, you can request it by mail from abroad, or have a representative in Korea collect it on your behalf. Before leaving, organize your account and contact information in your name.
