The day we opened the government source and matched the numbers. This is not a labor attorney's review.
Once you change to E-7-4 you can bring your family to Korea if you meet the conditions. Moving workplace requires a permit or report procedure, so check before you move.
Who can apply
- Registered foreigners who have stayed for a certain period on an E-9, E-10 or H-2. New H-2 issuance stopped on February 12, 2026, but people who hold H-2 now are eligible to apply for E-7-4. We could not confirm whether people who changed from H-2 to F-4 can apply, so ask 1345.
- You must be working normally at your current workplace
- For people living outside the capital area there is a separate route that goes through the metropolitan or provincial government
- The required length of stay is set every year by public notice. Check the number in the notice
Income condition
There are standards for annual salary and contract period. The amounts are set every year by public notice, so this guide does not copy them. Check that year's standard in the HiKorea notice.
The points system
- Points are based on annual income, Korean ability and age, and extra points and minus points are added. Check application requirements such as the required length of stay separately
- There is a total score standard and a separate minimum Korean language score
- The points and the cut-off line change every year. Check that year's notice
Korean is the gate
A minimum Korean score is the rule. However, until December 31, 2026, if you meet the other requirements you can postpone the Korean requirement until your first extension. Check your own case in the notice and at 1345. It is better to begin TOPIK or the Korea Immigration and Integration Program now.
Applying
- The number of places (the quota) and the application period are set every year by public notice
- When the quota is filled, applications for that year are closed. Check the notice first
- Applications are made online as a rule, through HiKorea electronic civil service
- The day of the week you may apply is assigned by the last digit of your birth year
CautionThe E-7-4 conditions, points and quota change every year. This guide explains only the frame of the system and deliberately does not write the specific numbers. Always look at that year's notice on HiKorea (hikorea.go.kr) and confirm at 1345.
